What does vermeil mean? Vermeil is an alloy of 925 Sterling Silver.
What does gilded mean? Gold plated jewelry is usually plated over stainless steel, copper or brass,
Which jewelry is better? The winner here is clearly vermeil jewelry. Alloying over silver is always more durable than like gold plated jewelry.
