Where does rose quartz come from?


Rose Quartz is a mineral found in many countries around the world. It belongs to the quartz group and is formed as a result of crystalline processes in various types of rocks. The pink color of rose quartz is caused by traces of titanium, iron or manganese that become embedded in the quartz during the crystallization process.

In Brazil, the largest producer of rose quartz, the stone is quarried in the states of Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia. Deposits of various colors and grades are found here, including the so-called "Pink Star" - a giant multi-million dollar rose quartz found in a mine in Minas Gerais.

In Madagascar, rose quartz is mined in various regions, including the so-called "rose quartz from Antananarivo", which is particularly sought after. The US also has significant deposits of rose quartz, particularly in North Carolina and Maine. In Germany, rose quartz is mined in various regions, including the famous "root quartz" from the Black Forest.

Rose quartz has been valued and used in various cultures for thousands of years. In ancient times, rose quartz was worn in Egypt and Greece as a gemstone and talisman. The Greeks and Romans believed that rose quartz could promote love and happiness and protect against disease.
